Finance Finland (FFI) is engaged in long-standing cooperation with other insurance industry associations in the Nordic countries. The cooperative work has included joint lobbying in key EU issues, and communication and information exchange in present-day topics. The associations will be an even tighter team in the future as they plan to develop the lobbying cooperation further.
FFI, Insurance Sweden, Finance Norway, and Insurance and Pension Denmark have laid the groundwork for the cooperation by agreeing on shared high-level policies in three important insurance themes:
The associations are also preparing joint statements on regulatory themes coming up in this new EU term – for example concerning the Solvency II review and consumer protection issues.
The shared policies are a solid foundation for future cooperation, but also signal the teamwork mindset to other stakeholders and decision-makers. Cooperative Nordic lobbying will have an important role with new EU decision-makers, Commission officials and Members of the European Parliament.
