Government launches anti-racism campaign – Finance Finland committed to working for an equitable Finland

  • Finance Finland was among the first organisations to join the Finnish Government’s anti-racism campaign.
  • The campaign invites all people and organisations to build an equitable Finland free of racism through concrete measures.
  • Finance Finland committed to a set of concrete steps to help dismantle racism and create a more equal society.

Finance Finland has joined the Government campaign against racism launched on 27 August 2024. The campaign challenges and encourages people and organisations from all walks of society to take practical measures to build an equitable Finland free of racism.

“The campaign is timely and important. At Finance Finland, we didn’t have to think twice about joining the campaign. A lot of work remains to be done before Finland is free of racism and discrimination”, says Finance Finland’s CEO Arno Ahosniemi.

The campaign’s aim is for every participating organisation to commit to taking concrete steps to foster equality and root out racism.

“Through our commitment, we want to demonstrate that we are going the extra mile to treat everyone as equal. We want to show that we value the different backgrounds, experiences and expertise of people. Our goal is for people of any background to feel welcome in our working community”, says Ahosniemi.

Ahosniemi points out that the campaign’s success relies entirely on how many people and organisations across all walks of society commit to the campaign.

“Even the best of campaigns will fail if people do not commit to them. I hope and believe that financial sector organisations will embrace the campaign and join on a broad front, but we also need communities, companies, associations, organisations and political parties across the board to commit to the campaign goals.”
