Finance Finland (FFI) and Service Sector Employers Palta have decided to deepen the labour market collaboration which started in 2015. From 2019, FFI and its member organisations will become Palta’s members in the scope of labour market action. As a result, Palta will continue to be in charge of representing the labour market interests of FFI member organisations. This does not affect FFI’s role in the Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK).
According to FFI’s Managing Director Piia-Noora Kauppi, FFI’s labour market collaboration with Palta has been seamless and produced excellent results. “Thanks to its extensive resources, Palta has been able to offer our member organisations clear added value in representing their labour market interests. It is therefore easy for us to continue collaborating with Palta and to become its labour market member”, explains Kauppi.
Palta’s Director General Tuomas Aarto is happy with FFI’s decision to apply for labour market membership. As an employer organisation specialising in labour market action, Palta offers excellent resources for handling labour market issues in the financial sector. “Thanks to the increased collaboration the membership creates, we can improve our activities and represent the sector’s interests even better”, says Aarto.
FFI’s members fall under one of two collective agreements: the financial sector’s collective agreement that covers some 25,000 employees, or the insurance sector’s collective agreement that covers some 10,000 employees.
